Sinclairs: Old Cloverdale

Sinclairs - History

In1992, a group of successful businessmen had the vision of opening a special Montgomery restaurant called Sinclair’s Cloverdale in the heart of the Old Cloverdale District. The friendly, neighborhood bistro atmosphere and moderately priced menu of delicious soups, large crisp salads, fresh seafood specials, heaping pasta dishes and juicy steaks made it into Montgomery’s hot spot to meet people.

In November 1996 as the city expanded to the east, Sinclair’s East opened with the same warm enjoyable atmosphere and great menu. People have grown accustomed to the lunches, socializing after work, nightly dinners and meeting over leisurely weekend brunches. Sinclair’s is also popular with people going to performances at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, movies and sporting events throughout the year. Banquet facilities and catering are available for private parties.

In 2000, Sinclair’s Kowaliga Restaurant opened on beautiful Lake Martin, on the site made famous by the old song about a wooden Indian of the same name. This extraordinary location on the Lake offers a view of the water from every seat, dockside dining, and a menu with more of a “lake feel,” offering more fish and seafood choices. Party space and catering are also available.

Choose any of the locations and you will be comfortable – people are dressed in everything from casual jeans and shorts to tuxedos and ball gowns. But, no matter the dress, everyone is having a good time enjoying great food and spirits. Come join us!
